Line Dancing

No Cover — 7:00pm Show

Sossy Mechanics founders and award winning dancers Megan McClellan and Brian Sostek are giving a FREE line dancing lesson on Wednesday, May 6 from 7PM to 8PM. Afterward, it’s an open dance floor from 8PM to 9PM!

All experience levels are welcome and cowboy boots are encouraged but not required.

Brian Sostek’s exploits have ranged from acting in some of Hollywood’s most quickly canceled sitcoms to touring internationally with dance and theater companies—alongside a brick he once used as a puppet. True story. After becoming too famous to travel without sunglasses, he returned to his Minnesota roots to teach many things, including how to talk with strangers, how to communicate science to strangers, and how to dance with strangers—all while having a good time.

Megan McClellan, a 2003 McKnight Artist Fellow in Dance and 2012 City Pages Artist of the Year, has spent her career pounding out percussive dance with Joe Chvala and the Flying Foot Forum, performing contemporary repertoire with Black Label Movement and Shapiro & Smith Dance, and adding movement to numerous Minnesota Opera productions. Her “energetic and charismatic” style (Metro U.K.) has also been featured at the Guthrie Theater, The Ordway, Illusion Theater, Walker Art Center, Chicago Opera Theater, and Nautilus Music-Theater, among others.
