No Cover — 6:30pm Event

Gunpowder and Lead Dance take over Animales for three nights of free country dancing (line dance and two step!) before the end of the year. Come for the line dancing, stay for the BBQ!

The evening includes 1.5 hrs of lessons and 1 hr of open dancing following the lesson.

6:30 — 7pm: Partner dance lessons
7 — 8pm: Line dance lessons
8 — 9pm: Open dancing

All experience levels are welcome and cowboy boots are encouraged but not required.

Erin Melzer (they/them) fell in love with country dancing here in the Twin Cities in 2018, started teaching partner dance in 2023, and country music DJing in 2025. When they're not on the dance floor they're busy working as a union carpenter + superintendent, bow hunting, and ranching out west whenever they get the chance.

Claire M-L (she/her) grew up doing all kinds of dance. Claire was introduced to Line Dancing and Two-Step 5 years ago and they quickly became Claire's new dance outlet. She has now been teaching and building community around country dance for 3 years! Claire works in Labor Rights, loves camping, and competitions of any kind.
