Sallyforth brings a spirited mix of rootsy songwriting and indie edge to the Animales stage. Fronted by two longtime collaborators whose voices and styles balance beautifully, the band moves easily between reflective moments and driving, full-band energy. Sallyforth is a Twin Cities-based Alt-Americana band. Leading ladies Hattie Peach (violin, vocals) and (rhythm guitar, vocals) began experimenting as co-writers as college students in their Duluth dorm room years ago. Peach’s heartfelt folk storytelling and Jeanne’s punk rock sensibilities harmoniously blend in their writing. Joined by Oliver Gerber on lead guitar, Dylan Hilliker on drums, and Daisy Forester on bass, the quintet fuses influences from their previous projects into a fresh, eclectic sound.
