Annie Mack is back at Animales for round two, and we couldn’t be happier to have her. She’s got one of those voices that pulls you in without trying too hard, warm, soulful, and full of story. Her songs feel real in a way that sticks with you. Come hang for a night that feels easy, intimate, and just a little bit electric.
Annie Mack is an accomplished singer-songwriter and healing justice activist whose work is rooted in lived experience as a Queer Black woman, mother of three, and radical truth-teller. Raised in North Minneapolis and shaped by the Twin Cities’ rich funk, soul, and blues scene, she began singing early, inspired by her mother’s love of music. She earned national recognition as a powerhouse blues vocalist, performing at festivals such as the Twin Cities Jazz Festival, Bayfront Blues Festival, and the John Coltrane Jazz Festival, and at iconic venues including Buddy Guy’s Legends and First Avenue.
