Adam & Ava Levy share songs as a father-daughter duo, mixing Adam’s decades of experience with Ava’s growing voice as a songwriter. Together they bring heart, humor, and harmony to the Animales stage.
Adam Levy is a veteran singer-songwriter best known for leading the Twin Cities’ roots rockers The Honeydogs for thirty years and more recently, being a part of the Americana trio, Turn Turn Turn, as well as other projects. His singer-songwriter daughter Ava Levy started in a femme punk band in high school called Sapphire and now records and performs solo, sometimes with a band, and has released a handful of singles in the last year or so. They’ve played together in their family band Bunny Clogs since Ava was a wee lass. As a duo they share songs, exploring Ava’s growing batch of tunes, dad’s catalog and a couple of covers. Ava’s lovely voice alone is worth the price of admission. It’s also entertaining watching Ava tease her dad as they tell stories about being father and daughter, songwriting and making music together since she was a toddler.
